What can Manly learn from the 2005 Finals?

I have a few thoughts on what this final series has shown up and the implications for Manly. Matabele has detailed some very pertinent things in articles but it is probably worth having a thread for the collective wisdom of the Silvertail posters.

having 2 halves is a must

having a good hooker is a must, i though farrah was great in the finals and behind prince man of the series

The tigers best players were their halves and hooker.

They had a simple game plan and stuck to it. It just goes to show that you don't have to have the best players in the competition to win it.

Props going forward over the advantage line and a good coach also helps.

need to have a good fullback, halves and hooker. both sides playing last night good players in those positions.

next year Manly have 2 from 4 in those positions. hopefully the other 2 work themselves out next season. Hopefully Ballin turns out as good as he has been made out to be and Monas or Burns can excel at 5/8 outside Orford.
