Weekes is Sharp

Many young guns impressive last night, but Weekes was my personal choice as best debut....
Just opinion, but he looked so elusive and seemed very measured with his passing game also.
We all recognise Koula the next big thing and can't argue, but did push a few passes which is forgivable given initial game and a trial where Des likely said "play your own game".
Koula will be huge for us and showed on moments- the gun he is.
But Weekes is that sharp half with time and also love quick players hunting in support, particularly in the middle which is a nightmare to defend
This was probably clearly shown when young Tong was at 9 and could utilise Weekes abilty better with sharp passing in and around the middle, creating half chances that Weekes could exploit.
This is a kid along with Koula going places....just maybe another halves option long term for Manly and also didn't mind when he went to FB and Koula centre, team dynamics went up at this point along with the bulldozing charges of Alec Tuivake
Weekes is a keeper and super impressed in his debut

one thing i noticed with koula was that he was slow to his feet when he was tackled. i know he's young & its early in the season but i hope that improves

Fair point - he has exceptional talent, but certainly plenty of rough edges to iron out

We have to wrap these kids up quick, Vaega, looks the goods. Remember who the first trial was, Rorters and and the raiders. You can bet Robbo and co would have stayed around to see who they could steal and young Vaega is only on a trial and train contract. Wrap em up Manly

I think him on development deal, I assume him and Young humphreys are nsw cup halves

Yeah he seemed to have real good strike on ball in his kicking

That is something the athletic beast Koula can easily fix as slow is not one of his his weaknesses

From what I saw he was safe in defence and lively in attack

From just his first hit out you can tell Koula will be a Hit

He is in our top 30 Nrl squad with a Bullet climbing up in the charts and straight into the starting centre position

So exciting to have a Dynamic Centre on our Wings

Humphreys Dad and our Ceo was a very good player as he is also a smart Man

He did show great composure and kept the game flowing in the right direction

I'm not as convinced with Humphrey's performance as everyone else, in fact disappointed....but big wraps and just 1 game, just my opinion.
Weekes however is in the cue today and Foran who looks fitter than the past 10 years, has a healthy young 1 snapping at his heels....Weekes is blessed to have these halves to learn off, no better school he could ask for.
