May not be too many NBA fans here, and I am not one, but here is an anecdote nevertheless.
My son is a big GSW fan, and has been for a long time. I recall him and his high school buddies doing the "owns it" made famous (relatively speaking) by Latrell Sprewell. (Bet that is where Latrell Mitchell's folks got the idea for a name!)
Anyhow he followed them for years and they never did much. Then a few years ago it was his birthday and I didn't know what to get him, I casually asked him who was a decent player in the Warriors and he nominated Curry, among a couple of others. I did an eBay purchase (for the first and only time in my life) got him an authentic curry GSW singlet, and ...bingo!
Nek minit they win everything in sight and Curry is the star of stars.
And my son actually proudly wears dad's gift for the past few years, happy times. (He plays basketball himself quite well, at least until he did his ACL oh well!)
Incidentally Curry is not 6'9" he is just a moderately tall guy with fantastic skill and athleticism, can't knock that when up against the giants in that comp!
