Just seen this. Interesting that any player can be called up now with this rule change.
I wonder why this has changed. Oh yes thats it. The rooters are runni g out of playera so something hd to be done to accommodate them.
Juat like the slime last week playing their guys in NSW cup and then going cap in hand to the NRL for special dispensation.

Farkkkkkk me......

'Beyond that, the NRL has broadened the rules even further to allow non-full time players to be selected from Round 11'

I get your point that clubs can and will exploit the rules.

Though I don’t mind the rule change it gives players a chance to sell themselves at the next level.

Along with the amount of injuries, we have used 25 players so far this season, come round 25 we could well have used above 30 players.

Brad Keighran goes good in NSW cup. From the Central Coast and was playing in the halves, but now plays in the hooking role.

I think we’d be in dire straits if we had to rely on bringing
in Blacktown Workers players. Once again anchored at the bottom of the table.
‘The Panthers are laughing. Both their 1 and 2 sides are unbeaten and sit atop both ladders.

Yes the development players but now they have also allowed ANY player to be called up. New rule.
This is a rule that was bought in before the season. I like the rule. It gives guys older guys a chance of getting a gig without having to be contracted as a top 30 player. Too often a top 30 spot is taken by a "young gun" because teams don't wanna lose them. Meanwhile an older player who is ready for 1st grade misses his chance at a top 30 contract. This way these older guys can still force their way into first grade.
There was an article mentioning Brad Keighran from Blacktown as our best chance of playing under this rule. I like him! His brother plays for Roosters.

Their system is incredibly strong currently , you’d have to expect they’ll be at the top for some time I would say.

I would rather have an Uncle Nick

Than an Uncle little Dick at a club

Power to all the Uncle Nicks and Great achievers of the world

Perhaps you'd care to approach Clive Palmer, that fine corporate citizen who has never paid a debt in his life. He is now sponsoring Israel -- the person, not the country -- and a RL team in Queensland.
