Roy Masters was just on 2sm his opinion is the game will get 1.3bil.
That works out 260 mil a season even if 50% of that is passed on to the clubs that's 8million a year each huge leg up for all the clubs.

He also said this could be the last tv rights deal he thinks with the NBN the Nrl will produce their own broadcast via the Internet where fans will sign up for packages.

Not sure how this will work from a financial pov
For example there 200 000 members of Nrl clubs if they all signed up for $100 that's only 20 mil a year income for the game. Would be great to watch every game u want live.

To be honest would only want 50% to go to the NRL clubs.
25% to grass roots - get rid of the various leagues in Australia and let the ARLC run it. All these various leagues create duplication of jobs ie double handling the same thing costing themselves money so it makes for poor business sense to have them.
This money will be used to reestablish comps that are now no more.
10% to establish a permanent Pacific Cup comp and funding for that.
Strengthen that and island boys won't turn there back on the islands making the next tv rights deal even stronger if we had an even stronger international comp.
15% into the war chest

It would be better if the clubs ran this bit by themselves like in the States athink it's wrong if I sign up for the Manly package via the NRL site only for another team to get a percentage of the profit.
