‘Sorry, Des’: Turbo’s heartache as shoulder injury ends his season

Tom Trbojevic apologised to Des Hasler after dislocating his shoulder and knowing he was set for another stint on the sidelines.

“I said sorry to Des. You can’t help injuries, but I felt bad.

Isn't it a turnaround when whipping boy Brad is being looked upon as our centre saviour?

Saviour? No. But he's easily the most experienced centre we actually have (not counting Walker) and we do need him back. He won't carry the team to a premiership, no way. But he'll do his job with a minimum of fuss.

Yep - I'd say 3 months though which is the season anyway..
5 months for an average joe not someone who has access to all the best rehab & surgeons in the business.

5 months is max time, it’s minimum 3 months but being in a contact sport and depending where we are placed in 12 weeks time it may be season over. At least it gives him time to build more mass on his legs to avoid future hamstring and knee issues.

Must say I’m wondering if he’ll ever be the superstar he was for a bit there last year.

Seems plagued with injuries and bad luck.

It’ll be interesting if he spends much of 2023 not playing what might happen.

Although I guess we just keep paying him 1.1 million for 2 or 3 games.

Manly superstar Tom Trbojevic has spoken publicly for the first time since going under the knife to fix a busted shoulder.

Trbojevic suffered the injury during Friday's loss to Manly.

Sadly, the ball that Trbojevic dived on was already dead, having been knocked on as the Eels attempted to score a try.

He says finding that out later was the most disappointing part.

"When I found that out, that really hurt me," he told 9News.

"It was a dead ball... but what do you do?"

In light of yet another injury, that looks set to end his 2022 season, there's been suggestions Trbojevic should move from fullback to centre.

He is one of the most dangerous attacking players in the game, but has been injury prone early in his career.

But he doesn't want a bar of that suggestion.

"It doesn't really resonate with me," he said.

"I'm happy playing fullback, and I'm guessing that's where I'll be next year."
