Not sure if posted, but a nice story about Paul Sironen talking about what Curtis has been through to get to 100 games.

https://www.seaeagles.com.au/news/2019/06/28/a-proud-moment-for-sironen-family/

As Curtis enjoyed a few laughs with his team-mates prior to the training beginning, standing quietly in the background was his father, Paul – the former Balmain, NSW and Australian forward.

Following a few words from Coach Des Hasler, Paul addressed the Sea Eagles squad on what it meant to the Sironen family for Curtis to reach 100 games after overcoming a series of injuries since making his NRL debut in 2012.

The strong bond between father and son was evident as Paul presented 25-year-old Curtis his milestone game jersey.

“What Curtis has been through to make it here….he had nine major surgeries before he was 23-years- old,’’ Paul said, proudly.

Big Eagle ready to take off

Big Sea Eagles forward Taniela Paseka has the potential to become a real NRL star.

HE’S the Sea Eagles monster who is ready to unleash his inner beast.

Prop Taniela Paseka, whose weight varies between 120-123kg depending on what he had for breakfast and stands 197cm tall, has all the attributes to become one of the NRL’s most devastating forwards.

And Paseka, 21, told Blindside he is ready to take full advantage of his imposing physical attributes.

“I am starting to believe with my height and weight I can do some damage,” Paseka said.

“It took me a while but I’ve got to believe that. I realise now I am a big body so I have to use it properly and help the boys out.”

Paseka has grown in confidence since joining the Sea Eagles from the Wests Tigers under-20s last season.

‘‘I was pretty timid and shy and in my shell, it was my first year,” he said. “But as time goes on you can’t be nervous, this is a job, you’ve got to be good at that job.”

TOUGH SCHOOL

PASEKA is learning his trade from the best in the game: experienced Test forward teammates Jake Trbojevic, Marty Taupau and Addin Fonua-Blake.

“I listen and ask them for tips to help me out with my game,” he said.

“You get to know every week what you’ve got to do to be consistent so that’s what I’m trying to work on.”

Paseka, who will come off the bench in this afternoon’s game with the Titans at Lottoland, is under contract with the Sea Eagles until the end of 2021.

“I’ve got time to hopefully reach my full potential at Manly,” he said.

Wooo boy oh boy. I've always thought once he realises this, he will be very very good.

Rip in champ!

The question is, what was he thinking before when he was looking down at a world of midgets

"Hey look at all those midgets."

lol

Yes, I don't know. Surely people around him were pointing out he was a monster? Maybe he was too shy and timid (as he said).

I still think that Curtis is a better player than his old man was (and we all know what sort of career Paul Sironen had. The only thing his teams never won was a premiership). About the same size and IMO definitely more skills than just running people over.

Back in the day, Paul Sironen was a giant in the second row. At 6'5" and 115 kg he was considered a man mountain with just about the only players who could match his size were the likes of Spud Carroll, Ian Roberts, Paul Harragon and Mark Geyer. The only difference with Curtis is that he's 5 kg lighter than Siro Sr. And of course, in 2019 his size is normal rather than towering.

Go Manly! Woohoo, first post (as soon as I delete Ricardo's and move mine to the top) - lol Kidding!

What an important game! I hope we smash them. Pity Proctor is back.

Goodness it's almost 5am...wake up!
Sorry, but totally by accident, mine is the first post.

As I am forced to use my phone to post today, l thought that it would be easier to copy my post from the previous game thread against them back in May at Brookie but after copying the post, I realised that it also copies the May date of first posting and applies it to this thread and if I then delete that mistaken post, it also deletes this Game Day thread (which I did but then resurrected it straight away after I realised that it had been deleted).
