Won the battle up front by KO tonight. and individual contacts
The front rowers ripped holes through the middle all night.
the Dogs were made to look ordinary by a team who physically owned them.
The players won their personal battles and controlled the ruck....which led to a rare thing in 2024....won the contest of controlling that play the ball and actually played the ball with speed that had the Dogs backpeddling and under the pump.
Also defensively pretty much monstered them most sets, where the Dogs were getting pummelled and often looked stung and shaken playing the ball very slowly and the ONLY time they looked threatening was that left shift to the Kikau - Xerri - Fox edge where garrick in particular looked in trouble missing a few 1 on 1's, but in his defence he made some great 2nd half tackles and in attack cracked them open also.
Great way to lay a platform and the props Paseka and Lodge deserve special mention, with Oka and Brown also lifting the energy when Manly needed to find something.
Special mention to a Super tackle by Aloiai on Burton around the boots 2m out to save a certain try at a vital stage.

Doctor Jekyll and Mr Hyde performance from last week, the middles all did well with their efforts.

Still under the opinion Simpkins would take them up another gear, Lawton with that run off Brooks gives them options instead of going out the back each shift on the left.

They build on this next week and play with that intensity and efforts they can go better than week 1 & 2 of the finals..

That’s the big question. Can we reproduce that next week. You’d like to think so in front of a massive home crowd with it all to play for. The forwards need to bring that every week for the rest of the season. It’s only a few more games. Next week we face a bigger pack who run very hard. Will be another level up from tonight. Great game though. Awesome power.

Next weeks team (depending on injuries, suspensions)
Coca Koula
Faulalo
Garrick
TT2
Lehi
Brooks / Humphries
DCE
Paseka
Simpkin
Lodge
Olakau’atu
Lawton
Jrbo
Res: Croker, Aloiai, Brown, Bully
Solid, but your 17 doesn't cover the common event of an injury to one of our outside backs.

An important part of the Lawton short ball working is Turbo out the back though.

100%, Lodge being there has taken all the presure of Tent, it's not all on Paseka to punch holes in the line. Brownie and Ailoi are a great one two punch follow up with Sipley in reserve, we're looking good leading into the first semi, hopefully at Brookie.

100% true, but Brooks had had that no look short flat pass even at Tigers days and has worked with ordinary edge runners, so imagine a Kikau or Nikora running those under lines....we would have another 12 linebreaks and 6 - 7 more tries in 2024....just on Brooks, really enjoyed him taking some runs at the line and his X factor skills to kick through a loose pass and put Turbo away was Top shelf.

Good summary feathered friend
Our Bigger pack pulled their weight and dominated the game
It was our most impressive performance of the year against one of the form teams of the year
The tigers game faded into insignificance with last nights dominant display

And now we have to strive for consistency
and soar into the finals with CC's
What do CC's stand for ?
*CONQUERING CONFIDENCE *

We wont say No to Winning this years title ..... We Say CC and Go Manly
Thank you very much ....

It was always on the cards that it was going to be a good pack with Lodge making his comeback… I’ve been counting down the days. And now we have Toff in the background pushing hard to get in to the game day 17. Signs are good

I'd have Croker starting and have Simpkin come on with Brown at the 20 min mark. Otherwise this is exactly the team I'm hoping for.
