So we've gone from solid hand shakes, to pats on the back, to half-pie hand shakes with a man brace, to kissing team mates on the cheek now! (once last week, two this weekend.... so far!). Along with that, blokes are putting good shots on each other in defence....only to bend over and help the bloke off the ground and see if he's OK!.....its Man love gone way too far. Where will it end?.....whats next, a full-on pash at half-time, BJ's on the sideline?! We've got state of origin coaches piissing in each others pocket a day after the game. Where's the hatred gone in the game, it's f@cken rainbows and bloody unicorns now.

The spine made a clutch play with post contact metres because they all bought into the culture before getting clunky.

• Props standing out at 5/8 during scrums
• Punching and even slapping will cost 10 in the bin
• Fullbacks packing into scrums at lock
• Shoulder charges will get you suspended, unless you have an upcoming rep game apparently
• Pushing in scrums seems to be frowned upon
• Fullbacks being picked as centres in rep games ahead of specialist centres
• Players rarely actually playing the ball with their foot. Thank God for Jorge
• Square up penalty counts
• World Championship Wrestling (thanks Melbourne......)
• Hooker's who've never had to strike for a ball in their entire career
• Scrum feeds behind the lock's feet

And that's just off the top of my head. I'm sure there are more.

how about : the ref calling the players back to replay the scrum if it was won against the feed(silly half put it in somewhere near the middle!)

Probably just a reflection of contemporary society and modern day sporting code"s concentration on the product and image aspect .Product as in entertainment value and to encourage faster open games , even and competitive contests . The image side to promote the clean and sportsmanship side and most other things such as in Rugby League's instance , scrums or the ruck area scene or on field player or official"s interaction are really just incidental . The balance between tradition and passion as opposed to some society perceived expectation and sporting hierarchy preferences . Never an easy balance , never will be . Anyway there are always other important considerations like - GO MANLY this afternoon.
