The Jake Conundrum

Everything we take Constructively is advantageous to us Including Criticism
Criticism may hurt our ego but it Keeps us on the Go and we should be thankful for the ones that take the time to tell us how it is
Copping Criticism on the chin is a good thing for all of us that want to keep stiving for excellence
Criticism also eliminates any form of Complacency
No one is perfect and we all have room for improvement

So we should Cop Criticism like a Men possessed and Rise to our best like Premiership Winning Great Eagles

Is it valid criticism to say he should retire?

We should take others Valid criticism Constructively and Valiantly
and Use it as a Valuable Motivating force to get the best of us so we can become Victorious

There was a game this year. Might have been first game Jake didn't play last 15-20 mins.

If my memory is correct Browny was just killing it, and no way would taking browny off have been the team thing to do. Brown led us to a win.

Now I don't know what Jake was saying, but after the game Jurbo was very emotional going straight over to seibs on the field and emotionally venting about something.

It certainly had the appearance of a tantrum about being benched. I couldn't help but think wow talk about putting yourself before the team. What a little bitch.

Now perhaps he was venting about something in the first half who knows, but it wasn't a good look for him in the circumstances of the coach and team getting a good win.

Now should Jake be re-focused by our coaching staff, to concentrate on his impact both with and without the ball, during shorter stints, on the field.

And NOT focused on how long he is on the field.

SEIBS would have my full support.

No way is Jake retiring. Lol.

Croaker to bench, replaces Jake at 13 or simkins if needed.

To lessen Jake's work load will get more quality out of him.

in my view part of the reason that we haven’t won a big dance is that we have too much coin tied up across too few players - with DCE excluded - with not enough game time or performance from them. That’s the conundrum for me. But not calling for them to be dropped or exited, but for there salaries to reduce to allow us to spend where we need. It’s got to be the salary that adjusts here.

Unless there contract is over, can't just renegotiate a new contract to reduce it I'm afraid, NRL won't allow it, even if it's via mutual consent, as was case with Turbo this year.

Yes it happens if player goes well and wants more $. Ie DCE at start of 2012.

But to be fair NRL have to take that stance, or contracts would be even more meaningless than they already are, and the NRL's broken player trading system would actually need to be looked at.
