The Injury circus

Manly have been absolutely smashed by injuries in recent years and have noticed now a few other potential Top 8 sides are copping a few.
Newcastle yesterday lost a couple with McCulloch key to their chances and City, Raiders have also lost a few.
Not sure if it's the new speed of the modern game - tackle technique with wrestles and twists and a late defender chopping at the legs, crusher tackles or the surface of many grounds is a little "loose" ??
Just hope we can avoid any more key injuries coming into the business end of the season.

The difference is that a club such as Easts can replace injured players with Internationals, such as Ryan Hall, and "superstars" such as Money-Bill.
Has the NRL ever gone to such lengths to help a club recruit a player as we are witnessing with Money-Bill?
Has there ever been a sponsor willing to forego their logo because this God-like player is a Muslem? There are other Muslem players who don't receive such treatment.

what the f*ck has his religion got to do with it ... he doesn't ram his beliefs down others throats

I think it’s more to do with the shortened pre season when we came back from lock down. Also a high volume of games on the one venue contributed to poor playing surfaces.

Yep, I think there is a clear correlation between the injuries and the factors you mention. The players just didn't have the training load to go from lock-down into competition proper, with a rule change that introduce more fatigue, within a month like they did. Add in more travel for clubs like Canberra which again contributes to fatigue. I wonder how much consideration was given to the duty of care owed to the players or was it the bottom line that was the number 1 priority...

Noticed the commentators were blaming the players boots in the Eels/Tigers game on Thursday night...of course that was Bankwest....

Faster the games, the more injuries will occur
100 % The faster you go the bigger the mess ...

best to have the injuries early in the season like manly. Now the players know they can win without tommy, so fingers crossed that all goes well for him and dylan once they're back.

The biggest crippling injury to a team is a broken spirit
Once the spirit is broken its all down hill towards the wooden spoon and there is no way back up
