1. Doesn'tmatta will buy the Hayne-Pain (with Titans paying half his salary for 2018) who will insist on playing fullback.
2. Gutherson will feel slighted, and blocked. His preferred positions being taken by the likes of Norman, Hayne, French, Jennings and Takarangi.
3. Manly assures him of the vital role of pivot and goalkicker in the team he has grown up supporting, sweetening the inducement by offering him a further two-year deal.

He's a great player my favorite last year.. he's had two bad knee injuries already I'm not sure of his longevity in the game. That said he can play anywhere and we need a center

Knee surgeries have an improved rate of long tern success these days, esp the ones at the elite level that pro athletes get.
I would not write Gutho off just yet.
Over 30 is a different story.

He is a good fullback but not as good as Tom T so it'd be no different than dreaming that any other fullback might come to Manly and play 5/8.
