As a result of the many and varied excuses offered for our under performing Club I thought it would be worthwhile compiling the excuses in one location so if anyone was to have the audacity question the performances we can just refer them to this thread.

Season 2014
1. Gifty departure results in Foran, Choc & associates dropping their collective bundles late in the season.
2. Tooves hamstrung by Haslers back ended deals.

Season 2015
1. Tooves still hamstrung by Haslers back ended deals.
2. Injuries, Injuries & Injuries.
3. Toovey Sacked.
4. DCE / Foran Contracts saga.

Season 2016
1. L-Plater coach with little idea of what he is doing.

Season 2017
1. Red P-Plater coach with little idea of what he is doing.
2. Match Fixing investigation.
3. Forced to include Snake & Matai in Cap.
4. Forced to Include Myles in the Cap.

Season 2018
1. Green P-Plater coach with little idea of what he is doing.
2. Salary Cap Investigation.
3. Injuries, Injuries & Injuries.
4. Akuila Uate.

I think people often confuse contributing factors with "excuses"

Uate is not an "excuse" for losing, but he his poor handling has been one of many contributing factors. In fact most of the things listed are reasons as to why we have been performing poorly, along with others the arn't listed

An excuse is more life "the ref was against us" which indicates our performance was good but we were not given a fair chance

That said, continue to vent, I'm sure it is very cathartic

Or in your magical world of bum hurt ... will you continue to transform reasons put forward by Silvertail posters ..... into "excuses" by Barrett ..... ?

Most of the issues you raise here come from the time when ownership of our club changed and we have seen over this period own goals, too many different CEO's, problems in the front office, a massive turn over of players and unresolved issues like the future of our home!

It is easy to make excuses for our failures, currently we are dealing with the most hostile NRL leadership that our club has known. Manly have always punched above their weight and held their own against adversity, we have unprecedented adversity at the moment.

The betting scandal which came to nothing, then became a salary cap investigation where our club has been hung drawn and quartered on flimsy hearsay evidence that is not transparent have severely damaged our club

Our club is crying out for leadership from our owners, our coaching staff and our team!!

In 2015, during all the mayhem of that season, we saw a miracle unfold when a group of kids that were slaughtered week in and week out during the 13 and 14 seasons, came together under a coach and got to a grand final against the odds, our club let that coach go and most of the quality kids in that team. The club screwed up!!

Last year we had an amazing team full of promising kids and we MUST ensure that we do not repeat the mistakes of 2015 and retain all the key players from that team.

As angry as I am with the NRL and Greenturds leadership, I am also annoyed as a member and long term fan that as a club we continue to fall flat on our face because we cant get our act together in the front office and there are so many unresolved issues that need immediate attention.

We need an answer about what the heck is happening with Brookvale oval? It is obvious that the NRL will not lift a finger to assist us as they have others, If the Penn's walk away, what is the plan to make our club sustainable long term??

This is a critical time for our club in so many areas. I am tired of all the drama from the last 4 years, we had such an amazing and united team on the field that functioned in spite of the dysfunction that happened in our front office.

We need a united club, the Sea Eagles and the Football club need to come together for a common cause, the factions and back biting has to go and we need a transparent plan about where our club is heading.

Failing to do this, will take our destiny out of our own hands!!!
