The Dally M Winner 2021

I know Turbo has missed games early....but his freakish season has him collecting the 3 points almost every week and from what I watch - it's daylight 2nd....
I agree with a few of these judges that Cody Walker has really lit up in a few games and others I hardly notice him.
Cody Walker is an attacking enigma, who can unlock opposition defence with unconventional footy you can't train against...but often has poor defensive lapses and often , simply is gone Troppo and you don't see him.
Boozehead Rothfield again last night on the footy show was saying how Turbo had skipped out to a 9 point lead, but due to Walkers recent form the experts (I think he includes himself in this :giggle: )....due to Walkers recent hot patch, have him in front by 3 points...does he not watch Manly games ???
HELLO - I don't think Tom's Hot patch of form has an OFF button and guess what, he makes Massive defensive plays also to save tries which 1 would assume is a pretty damn important footy factor also....the only games I think he may not have scored points are Newcastle and Storm where I argue he may have got 1....
The only way Tom won't Win, is if rested end of season games, apart from that it's a 1 horse race imo - even then would be lucky to catch him....can anyone else see a Winner outside of Turbo, if so give Rothfield back his cask of wine and we need an investigation !!

I think Turbo is definitely going to win it and earlier in the season I thought he was going to do it comfortably.

That said, Walker is putting up numbers that are incredible and can’t be discounted

... and Turbo plays for Manly so big discount there whereas the vermin get so much media love

I don’t think it’s any secret that Tom’s frustration over longterm injuries in the past, with the final catalyst being the ‘Corso sprint’ fallout, have seen him more determined than ever to put that stuff behind him and reach his potential.

Chompers Tedesco had a similar period in his career at Balmain’s Magpies. Tom, courtesy of his great height and size, probably has much more upside to his game than Chompers.

Barring further serious injuries (touch wood), hard to see Tom not going on to become one of Manly’s greatest and one of the game’s greatest players.

For mine there's one big deference between Walker and Tommy ..
Tommy has grabbed this team by the bootstraps and dragged it kicking and screaming too the finals by all by himself... Sure, foz and DCE are playing ok, Crokers playing ok now, tapau and paseka are going well, but tom is the difference between a win and a loss...
The bunnies have reynolds who is killing it this year, latrell who is killing it, Walker is too, but he is far from doing it all by himself like Tommy boy has been.

I believe Tom was 7 points clear of Walker when voting went silent. Since then Turbo has scored 3 points most weeks. Even if Walker somehow managed to score the same as Turbo the past 5 weeks then Turbo would still be 7 ahead. He might already have enough to win it. I hope he plays another couple games to make sure of it. His form deserves the award!

Future Immortal if he keeps playing like he has this year. His stats from limited games are mind blowing. Top 5 for tries scored, try assists, linebreaks, and linebreak assists.

Do that on a per game basis and exclude those that have played 1 or 2 games, then He is 1st in Try Assists (DCE 4th), 2nd behind Brett Morris (7 games) for Tries (Saab and Garrick are = 5th) 3rd in LBs behind Alex Johnstone and Garrick, first for LBAs.

Walker is an amazing player, who I find puts his cue in the rack in 2nd halves when South's are way ahead. South's may skip on further, but it is not Walker figuring prominently

Would not surprise me if Des plays him v the Raiders but then gives him a week off, bringing him back on the last round so he’s got some game time before the finals.

Even with one game off he should still win it.
