The crucial play

outside of all that bunker stuff, there was one play that sums up how much a tightrope that game was and how easily a season can end

10-10, inside the final 10mins, Cleary puts a kick in, going a mile too deep, Tom slips and accidentally touches it

Peachey 'scores' off that and its as good as done, Tom doesn't slip and we have a 7 tackle set and at worst DCE is lining up a drop goal to take the lead at the other end

We didn't play well, but these days the officials have so much influence over a match that the better team regularly loses.
I hope that the Grand Final is decided by a dodgy video ref call. Perhaps then they will scrap it. At the very least all decisions should be made in real time. As soon as you slow down the action you distort reality.
If your eyes tell you it's a try, or a knock on then that's how it should be adjudicated - not by CSI!

Hopefully against the scummos. And while we are it go back to one ref.Just wait till the World Cup when there is only 1 ref, I guarantee the games will flow better with less bs calls in the ruck

No chance of that, look at the shot above, not to mention the forward pass to open their account today

Must say the field was unsafe and not up the standard. Players were slipping over constantly throughout the game.

To be fair on Tom the kick was inch perfect in the end and it went against us. I think the big turning point was when we got to 10-10 we were running out of petrol and Penrith were getting better value for their kicking game. The Peachey try really stuffed us. The people responsible for allowing that to stand should be dealt with but we all know it wont happen.

Which is another anomaly with the rules.
You can kick a ball in general play and if it hits a defender that didn't play at it and it goes out its a turnover but a situation like this in goal is a drop out- he was trying to avoid touching the ball but slipped so why is it different?

The most disappointing thing about the state of the officiating in the NRL is the way it detracts from the spectacle. It's so anti-climatic the way every little piece of action is scrutinised to the nth degree. It's supposed to be entertainment but it's really just about the referees and the bunker and how much they are going to spoil the match. It's the same old story that's been talked about for nearly 20 years now and it gets worse not better.

Where was Green and his repeat sets magic tonight??? I was so disappointed we failed to control possession when attacking in their red zone.

Yes I'm sure if there was a glory moment DCE would have been there to kick a field goal etc. He and Green were both average last night. Lets say Green was below average.
