2006 NRL betting:

$4.60 St George Illawarra;
$6 Parramatta;
$7.50 Sydney Roosters;
$10 North Queensland, Wests Tigers;
$11 Newcastle;
$12 Brisbane, Bulldogs;
$17 Penrith;
$21 Manly;
$26 Cronulla, Melbourne, Souths;
$41 New Zealand Warriors;
$61 Canberra.

Hopefully Parra dissappear again into the dust like they did after their 2001 disaster.

the bookies must have forgotten that the tooiiiiiigers have handbag harris next year

I'd be interested to compare the above with last years market.
The spread would've been alot bigger last year.

compare the price of the premierships winner last year as well - im sure the tigers were further out than us

Me think's the closeness of this years competition has scared the bookies.
If not it's atleast given them an excuse to give ****house odds.

Spot on PJ. Current books are running at 144 to 145%. That means if you put an amount on each team to win $100 it would cost you $144 to cover all of them. Usually a bookie margin runs at 20% for a sporting event, quite a bit less when competition is high.

That's interesting...
I'm sure all the bookies were thrilled to bits when the salary cap came in!
