If Seibold can't get this team to fire and at least get to week 2 then he needs to be sacked.
That Dogs team has way over achieved and if we can't beat them then the last month has been a complete shambles. 96 points conceeded in last 3 games.
Come on! Manly playing finals this week, we've been hoping for this for (what feels like many) years, and people want to discuss sacking the coach!
Enjoy the week is my suggestion - I can assure you I am!

Take a step back. Look where we were at the end of 2022. IMO Seibs is doing a good job. We've made the finals and are still a microscopic chance of making the last dance.

It all comes down to your level of expectation and what the standards are for the club. We don't know everything going on behind the scenes, which players are feeling good, whose depressed and or unhappy, all that sort of stuff that the coach has to look after and manage.

See how we go next year. And the year after that. Interesting times ahead. Might as well stick with him and give him a chance. He's earned another contract. Whether he gets it is up to the playing group and him.

I take a look at our squad compared to others, then allow consideration for injuries , suspensions ect....and honestly don't feel there would be too many coaches aside from Bellamy or Cleary to have us any higher in the picking order.....
There are a few area's I certainly can't agree with, on top of that list is Croker at 9, but even there is debatable as Gordie showed glimpses of ability, but overall was not great in 2024.
Jake Simpkin is still my preferred 9, but it's not like a landslide...there is no Harry Grant types as options and Seibold gets to see them all at training together and see things none of us do, so just gotta show the faith and see how it plays out Sunday.

You want your team improving, obviously it would be good to go from 13th to 1st in one jump but unless you’re Chooks that doesn’t happen.

Consistency is the goal now, and with consistent strong results Manly becomes a more attractive option for quality recruits. One or two of which we definitely do need.

MANLY POACH EELS ASSISTANT

Brad Arthur’s long-term right-hand man Steve Murphy will join Manly next season as Anthony Seibold’s assistant coach.

Murphy will join the Sea Eagles’ coaching team next year after leaving the Eels. Murphy joined the Eels in 2014 and was Arthur’s long-term assistant coach until Arthur was sacked by the Eels earlier this year. At Parramatta he also worked alongside Peter Gentle who now heads up Manly’s recruitment.

Before that, Murphy was an assistant coach at the Titans.

So we are employing an ex-parra and ex-titans coach to support our ex-donkeys coach in moulding a champion team from ex-tigpies players...???

Hmmmmmmmmm......

Beggars can’t be choosers.

Just part of the new Parramattafication approach of the M-W club.

We have had Tigerisation. So now it’s time for something else.

And I see David O’Donnell has resigned from his pathways role. Something to do with this in-house review into the juniors that Big Tony is conducting.

Is Hales the Pommy fitness coach? If so, I’d be trying to keep him, I thought our boys were noticeably fitter this year.
The pommy fitness coach is Jon Clarke

I think it's fair to say Manly are playing far more attractive footy since Seibold arrived, using the pace and flair out wide....and if we can keep the rage up front with those paseka/Lodge carries into Brown/Aloiai....this is possibly the Best Manly have looked in some time ....
In attack - yes. That ain't the problem.

I would be surprised if Hales is being let go, he is highly regarded by both the club and the players.
Interesting, given Hales has been at the club during the current ups and mainly downs. Was rated by the Fulton’s,so that says everything to me,others may think differently
