That was a great win and i have to say:

It was great but I think this thread is an example of the unrealistic way we can view our team.

We beat the team coming 15th. Yes they had won some games in a row but it is a game we should always win.

Next week I think we will get a far better view on how the team is placed

agree

Also shows how far we have fallen as well!
How far have we fallen though? @lsz Over the last two months we have won five out of our last seven. One of those losses was against the reigning three-peat premiers (at their home ground, and the other loss occurred when we had fifteen players out).

Granted we had a period between rounds nine and eleven, where we had three straight losses. However, these losses were by two, six and one respectively. I believe we have come through that mid-season slump pretty well.

We have also had three wins aginst top four teams over the season, including one over our opponents this coming round. We are currently sitting in fifth spot, seven rounds out from the finals, and have a bye in hand. Our next game is critical to any ambitions we still harbour to finish top four.

I think we are a real good chance against the Roosters this weekend, as they appear to be losing momentum, just as we appear to be gaining it. Go Manly.

We are trending up mate, and are well above .500. We've beaten top teams this year. We are at a point where a loss won't actually hurt us too badly.

There's plenty to be positive about right now. Wea re improving. Didn't we beat a pretty solid Titans winning streak ?

We signed that junior Aussie rep forward, re-upped Paseka. Even I can't find fault right now !!

The last three weeks have been crucial and the boys have showed plenty of grit and a real will to win. The litmus test will be on Sunday. Provided we play smart footy we are a chance of knocking off the Rorters.

Long term Manly fans have probably become overprotective of our feelings, having endured a long (by Manly standards) premiership drought and having been burned with a couple of false dawns, ouch they hurt. So do we look for the negatives and things that might go wrong, so we don't get our hopes up, to the extent we don't see what others might plainly see? Namely a team about to crash into the top 4, and that has already beaten the 'big 3' so far this year?
Sure the Chooks will start favourites on Saturday, big deal.
And they have got heaps of big names but that didn't help them against Storm, and might not help against Manly either. Robbo will be nervous for sure!

Apologies I meant since 2013 ish!

When the Soup is hot, you know Manly are getting it right !!
Thing is, I see more improvement in this team and we are building some nice momentum which builts trust in the coaching staff and confidence amongst the players....2 things missing in many years imo.
Look forward to this roosters game and regardless of the fulltime score, I am simply looking for a whole hearted performance to show that we belong in that top shelf of NRL teams, as I feel we certainly are very capable and the effort is the Top priority come Saturday.
