Support - Attack and Defence

There is zero support around the ball carrier and our attackers are losing the contact and getting battered by 3-4 every play as it's like a game of bullrush with every man for himself.
The fact there is no depth to the attack, even when attacking the opposition tryline is bizarre and the 1-2 times blokes like Keppie windup from deep and crash forward almost look like scoring...far more than this panic looking sideway shift to a flat footed bloke on the outside, the ultimate recipe for a mistake or finding the sideline rather than the try line.
In defence also...players are kind of standing back and watching instead of creating that 3 - 4 man dominant tackle which gives the opposition momentum through the middle and then they have us backpeddling out wide.
Support is something that comes in desire and and attitude also and as much as I did not like Billy Slater, he pushed up around the footy ball 50 -60 times agame where the supporters only notice the 2-3 times he got the ball leading to tries.
This is called an Effort play, which we lack badly..

Our attack is non existent, very predictable, no backline plays, no decoys, no run arounds, no block plays, no cutout passing, no halves organising, just forwards banging up the middle getting driven backwards. What do they practice at training all week ?

That is Des Hasler coaching through and through.
Take a look at the Bulldogs under his reign.
Woefully inept in attack.

Are they really training for this sht ? How can you train to be this bad. Stop training now !!!!

When we had sets on their line there was no right side backline. The ball would get to dce and he would have one runner on his right, no fullback chiming in, and 2 statues nowhere near the ball.

on the left the ball would stop with the glacial slow foz. Or he would pass it to schuster, another ball player when we needed a hole runner. I don’t blame schuster.

Dylan was nowhere in attack in these situations. He didn’t drop a bomb this week, but he is sadly not an attacking fullback.

Great summary mate and accurate, there are no bodies in motion, this does not have to only be off set moves, but the best teams have players in motion supporting the ball carrier to both add options and put the defence in 2 minds almost every play...and the flat footed backline shifts have no punch as the players are rarely hitting the ball at pace...

Because we have no real threats up the middle that most players aren't anticipating a break so don't bother pushing up. Remember a couple years ago when we had Fainu darting out and Turbo sniffing, we'd have the whole team pushing up expecting a break. Chez is at his best when this combo is on the field together. We started to see a bit more of it when Cust came on.
