Cameron can smile because even with the salary cap scandal of 2010, the Storm have had a vastly superior record to Manly’s over the last 16 seasons.

Probably has something to do with sticking with a coach who delivers, and thus not quibbling over the resources he demands;

Having an excellent football manager who is a former Manly junior, sadly long since lost to the latter cause; and

Not changing out CEOs every two to three years, losing corporate knowledge along the way. For example, would Mestrov have been so keen on Seibold as head coach, if he had been directly involved in Manly’s affairs during the Barrett era?

Of course there are other reasons, like identifying and sticking with the right sort of playing talent, but those ones will do for now.
