Barrett coached the Sea Eagles to 13th place that year, 6th place and a qualifying final in 2017, and 15th place last year before being punted by the northern beaches club.

**** these monkey typists, that's just not true!

Bizarrely, Manly kept Barrett on their books and paid two head coaches - alongside Des Hasler - until Barrett’s contract expired a month ago.

OMG, what was bizarre about it? Journo's must get paid more than we think if dropping a few hundred K all at once to move a resigned coach on is nothing.

Will no doubt see him around a few pubs and clubs with the boys for training sessions.

He is right about something though, he has a lot to do with this years success, if he stayed as head coach we would be talking about how are we going to avoid the wooden spoon but he had a dummy spit resulting in Des coming home with us now talking about could we go all the way.

Baz obviously went to the same school of negotiating as George Costanza did, I was under the impression that when you leave a job, you would obviously move on to a better job, unless Baz thinks that assistant at Penrith, a position he had five years ago, is better than head coach at Manly, go figure.
