Will be interesting to see if Des gives him a game this season.

I believe both Kieran Foran and Will Hopoate were both 18 when they debuted in first grade under Hasler. Both were outstanding from day one

Neither debuted until a ways into the season. That is the best time to turn a teenage prodigy loose, in a team that is already settled and doing something.

Correct for Foran but IIRC Will might have played the whole season. I remember him destroying his opposite number in round 2 against Newcastle at Brookvale
Wiki:
"Despite a season-ending injury to Manly 1st-grade fullback Brett Stewart in Round 1 of the 2010 NRL season, Hopoate had to wait until Round 13 to make his debut as coach Des Hasler preferred to use Ben Farrar in the custodian role".

True, but look at the team they came into, surrounded by Premiership winners, rep players etc

When you are tough enough and good enough the time is right
Everything else is a waste of time
