Few errors there. Biggest one is the claim that Terry Randall was 'lured' to the Club. Umm, no Brent Read, he was a Manly junior.

And if we won in 1986, does that mean Parramatta won in 1987?

Few mistakes but the general point is good: it's really really hard to win a premiership and we've been there and thereabouts every decade, mostly fronting up in the finals, never gotten the wooden spoon. as arko says, jealousy, and the tall poppy syndrome. roy masters is proud of trotting out his line that the worst thing you can do in rugby league is win the premiership as the knives come out straight away. (He seems to forget that when he's constantly whining about us and harking back to a bad decision or 2 in a couple of games in 1978....)

It'll be really hard again this year, but at least we know the eagles have a tradition of getting over all the hurdles. GO YOU EAGLES!
