My daughter was born with a 1mm hole in her heart that was picked up by chance from our doctor.

When she turned 3 doctors operated and inserted a small piece of mesh that the muscle could grow around eventually closing the hole.

When we spoke to the cardiac surgeon and he told me that there are lots of the population running around with small holes in the heart that can lead to sudden death in some cases.

Most people don’t know they have them as screening is not something that is done without a necessary reason.

Good news that the doctors are on top of your daughters condition .

She is one of the lucky ones .
