Salary Cap problems?

Just noticed that in 1977, the Manly Committee paid Eadie and Randall $200 each as thanks for their performances over the past 6 weeks. I am sure this was not declared in any years salary cap.

Guess golf wasn't big to players in that era.
Anyway I thought there wasn't a cap until about 1990, before that it was basically spend yourself broke.

If Greenturd was still in charge I reckon he would have docked us 4 points this year for that

If payments over a "coffee, gold, resort or even the change rooms" was declared over the years....it would be pretty interesting to say the least....then we even have clubs with 2 sets of books and "still" call it fair.
Let me add - Manly's big cheque book was staggerring at times, particularly over the 70's and 80's, but was in the spotlight as all above the table.....it's these other "silent" deals that are swept under the carpet, that are the real concern.
