Salary cap for Football Operations

So apparently there is going to be a salary cap for football operations according to Paul Kent on NRL 360. This includes coaches, trainers, medical staff etc.

I'd be fairly certain operations like Manly will fit well under that cap. I cannot WAIT to see The Bronco's, Roosters and teams like that fit into theirs.

I'm considering buying stock in brown paper bag manufacturing companies. Just a gut feeling they'll be in short supply per demand mode soon.

This follows the recent report on club losses.

Again like the salary cap, this is designed solely to stop dumb clubs from sending themselves broke. If I hear one dead c..nt at NRL say it is to create a level playing field and fair comp I will throw up.

People like Penn will be saying halleluyah!

Some of the clubs like broncos and panthers will be interesting with the size their operations. Seems an easy one to rort really do all club employees now need to be registered through the NRL? Do they have he accounting power to manage that?

Absolutely spot on there mate. This is solely to do with the almighty dollar, and clubs over spending (Titans, cough, cough) with cash they clearly don't have.

I think they are starting to get sick of propping franchises up.

Love to know how they measure it though. Wonder what it will be? Have to be like 10 million surely? Each club has what, 7-8 coaches through the grades, a few docs, trainers, physio's. That's staffing alone...then you get to all the other expenses like transport etc etc etc.

The Bronco's are a (rude) customer of mine. You should see their back of house setup now and what they are moving into later this year. It's massive; really big business.

The Rorters will fit into the proposed cap easily just like their players cap. So many of the support staff will be more then happy to be earn $25,000 per year.
