Sad, but also kinda hilarious.

Pompeii discovery reveals man who was pinned by fridge-sized stone while fleeing Vesuvius.

Officials at the Pompeii archaeological site have announced the dramatic discovery of the skeleton of a man crushed by an enormous stone while trying to flee the explosion of Mount Vesuvius in 79 AD.

The man may have escaped the initial violence of Vesuvius in the ancient city of Pompeii, only to be crushed by a block of stone hurtling through a lethal volcanic cloud.

The pics cracked me up more than they should have.

Enjoyed wandering around Pompeii a few years ago. :)

I saw that GE and I thought it's not the kind of thing to make fun of. Seriously. Death is a serious thing and the departed can't defend themselves. This dude may well have been a good bloke. He may well have had a valid and innocent reason for loitering near the exploding volcano. For God's sake man, think of his surviving spouse, or relatives and friends (or their descendants). Shame on you. It's just too soon.

I was laughing at it again last night.

I was thinking the guy (who also had a bung leg) got away from the pyroclastic flow and was hobbling away and turning around yelling at the residents of Pompeii saying: "I warned you all it was going to blow! But none of you would listen! It'll be fine you all said! Well...who's laughing now numbnuts? (that's for @Woodsie ) who's....laughing....now.....???"

KA-THUMP!
