Shaun Johnson has re-signed with the Warriors until the end of the 2019 NRL season after signing a new two-year contract the club announced on Friday.

The 26-year-old said he was thrilled to settle his future with the club in what he regards as the most important contract of his career so far.

“This was a big contract for a lot of reasons and I’m excited to be able to lock it away and know I’ll be here for another two years,” he said.

I wonder why only two years? Seems a bit short by today's standards. At 26 I would have expected at least a 3-4 year deal.

Couldn't agree more. Decent player who has had his tyres pumped up relentlessly by commentators for occasional highlight reel plays , but when the game is tough he's nowhere to be seen.

Poor mans Benji Marshall.

I would certainly have thought the Warriors would have wanted to tie him up longer.
