5 Sydney clubs in the 8 so may not be us but considering we apparently sniffed around Luke Lewis could see this being the case


Has a Storm stench coming off him but IMO I would definitely take Hoffman on a 1 year deal. Will he be the future of the club……….no, would he fill a gaping hole in our side (IMO edge bacjrow is our weakest spot) in 2018 allowing as to line up an off contract star for 19….yes


Comes straight into the starting line-up for Winterstein IMO

Hoffman was a terrific player but I can't see him making Manly a better team with his current form.

We are an inexperienced side lacking leaders. He's likely got more impact than Winterstein, and is a relatively solid player all round. Solid defender, ok runner of the ball. I'd be happy with a 1 year deal, get a little leadership onto that inexperienced edge with Kelly, Taufua (if he stays)

If we find a better option, please just take that option, if not eh why not. Wish we had gotten Luke Lewis now. Winterstein has shown his true colours in that storm game, he needed to lift yet did nothing, literally nothing

He's still a fair player I think - taken a lot of head knocks in his career & wonder how much gas he has left in the tank - but very whole hearted player.

I hope we don't go for Hoffman.. He'd be another Myles or Willie Mason and this stage of his career. He can be very proud of his accomplishments and longevity but he's too late to bring in now. Hasn't held up the same vintage form as Luke Lewis or the Melbourne 3 and he's not coming fresh out of the storm system

Sure if the salary caps forces some clubs to offload some quality then fantastic lets get ourselves a star

But there is not much out there and I'd take Hoffman over Winterstein as a starter
