Round 21 vs the Storm

Make Manly Great Again #Hasler2019
This covid outbreak in sydney is getting serious. it would be a tragic financially for the club if this game is played in front of no fans if the lock down continues.

I wonder if it would be worth the clubs time to move this game to Suncorp or Skilled. This game would pull a massive crowd and would probably get more at Robina than the titans do as the storm have a big fan base up here.

before i get shouted down the home advantage at brookvale goes out the window when theres nothing but a cement truck on the hill

The no crowds are an issue and would certainly have helped us last night. Put it this way if that game was moved to Qld or even either coasts I’d be there in a heartbeat. Was there what 44 cases today in Sydney? There’s a lot of work to do to get that under control by the sounds of things.

mate we had more fans at robina than the titans.
that game would go close to 30k at suncorp.

Moreton Daily Stadium at Redcliffe holds 12k all seater, TV quality lights and only charges the brisbane roar 15k per game

Whilst I won’t be home in time that’s an excellent idea.

Huge numbers turn out for every Robina game.

The sport certainly loses its atmosphere without crowds, even on TV. It also seems to lose its ferocity. So if it means playing in front of crowds I'd think the suggestion of moving it to a 'green zone' is an excellent idea. Possibly even to Mudgee. I know many of us who watched the Titans match travelled from Sydney and wouldn't be able to under current restriction. But it seemed to me that Mudgee embraced the Sea Eagles and that we'd still get a few thousand locals at such a match. I don't think the club would have to pay for ground hire and the local Council is very keen to have Manly return so there may even be some further monetary incentives.

If you wanna see the diff a crowd makes...

Have a look at this 2 min vid where Budweiser fills a hockey stadium with fans when two 'beer league' teams are playing.

Players certainly lift!

But the cement truck serves as a timely reminder 🙂
