Barring some NRL manipulation of the whole thing, DCE has got it wrapped up. The dummy and go on Saturday night for Snake's try showed the class and confidence of this kid. Not only has he stepped into the NRL and been a key in lifting his team to the top of the table but he has done it from the most high pressure position in the game. Tariq is a class player and deserves all the praise he gets but realistically, he is a hard running 2nd rower, nothing more. Cherry controls the game and can come up with the big plays to swing the momentum of the game.

pppffftttt Tariq Sims, a decent prospect but he plays 50-60 minutes (25 last week against the broncos) in the back row. I thought he was great early in the season, but he has tapered off a little.

Now compare that to a half back in the best team in the competition.

"No-brainer" for mine.

It was great but i actually preferred the way he set up his own try. Great dummy and pass to Lyon and backed up to score the try. He is a certainty for Rookie of the year IMO.

Rookie and Half back of the year.
I love how he does a fast dummy sometines and a slow dummy other times. He does quick passes and holds the pass up other times.

I actually missed the first 20 minutes of the game and I haven't seen a replay of that try (I might have a look now) so I would concede that it may have been more impressive. I found it funny last week, there was a try earlier in the year in a Cowboys game where Thurston had stuck his boot out to trap a grubber before running about 80m to score. The play was used as an example of why Thurston is the best half going round. DCE did the same thing last week and it barely rated a mention. Admittedly it was not the most impressive play, just an opportunistic one but it shows how much influence the media have on how people rate players.
