Former Manly Sea Eagles halfback Rick Chisholm passed away yesterday after a long illness, aged 48.

Chisholm has lived on the Gold Coast for several years and has struggled in recent times with liver problems.

A former manly junior Chisholm burst into first grade with dynamic effect in 1980 and scored all 17 points in a win over Cronulla at Brookvale Oval.

A brilliant runner with the ball Chisholm played 27 first grade games with the club over three seasons and spent a season with the Newtown Jets.

The funeral service for Rick Chisholm will be held next Monday, March 5 at Tweed Heads Crematorium Chapel at 12 noon.

I guess the drugs got to him eventually.

Hmmm I wonder how he had such terrible liver damage.

I remember that game well against cronulla, he had a blinder. Yes he could have been a lot better player except for his involvement in the seeder side of life

Tragic - he did well in his years at the top and was a good club-man though not blessed with the ability of other halves we had both before and after. He was superb that day against the Sharks.

At least he had one good game more than Kimmorley had with Manly.

I remember that Sharks game, and the next week he scored all 11 points in an 11-8 win over Newtown when the State players were all away.
