Reuben could be winning plenty of games for us in 2020 if 2019 is anything to go by

Nice to have 2 great options. Reuben seems to hit them very sweet, especially from the side line . He just needs to convert the easy ones he can miss from time to time.
Great to have a goal kicking winger scoring try’s and kicking goals.

Agreed, he seems to shank the one’s about 15-20m in from touch.

Reuben is a good kicker and a good looking fellow

He has a great strike rate on and off the field

Every where he goes

Reuben scores !

I found the article very interesting..... don't know why they led with Reuben in the headline when the point of the article is that the DUO of DCE and Reuben is really strong. Not to mention that DCE's 2019 form was actually better than Reuben (80%+?)

Anyway. It is heartening to know we are strong in that space. Now we just need to score Trys!

Comparing Reubs and DCE's kicking in 2019 is a bit like apples and oranges considering that Reubes took more than three times as many kicks.

Though in 2018, Cherry had 83 shots (Reubes had 85 last year) and he did kick at 78.31% (65/83).

Either way its good to know that we have a couple of kickers capable of around 75-80% accuracy. Imagine if Dylan Walker was still doing the kicking.

Great kicker but from memory seem to miss relatively easy shots about 15 metres or so to the left of the posts. Bring back us old toe pokers lol.

Can you imagine the points totals players like Wombat and Mick Cronin would have had at the end of their careers if they had the 80% or so accuracy of today's kickers? Both were great kickers for their time, but their toe poke style meant that their accuracy could sometimes be hit and miss. When they got it right, which they did more often than not, it was glorious to watch, especially from Wombat. But sometimes even shots 20 out from dead in front were sprayed by usually reliable toe poke kickers.

It's just so bizarre watching old Test matches and seeing Mal Meninga line up his toe pokers, especially when we had other kickers in the side!

so so true - the margin for error is much greater that is for sure. But Wombat was a fabulous kicker

I totally agree, I've got many old copies of RLW, Big League etc., in the 70's and 80's the best kickers were lucky to be at 65% accuracy. It was only when kickers such as Ridge and Halligan came through in the early 90's that it was realised how important goalkicking is.

Agreed.. we have lacked a good kicker for a long time. Jamie Lyon was pretty good at times. Ox was pretty inconsistent...

I think the around the corner kicking technique and non leather balls contributed greatly to the improved percentages.

Lyon was good except from the sideline. Orford was hit and miss. DCE wasn't great up until a few years ago. Dylan Walker was inconsistent. Andrew Walker was good, it was a shame he only stayed a year. Shane Rodney served as a good backup for a few years, kicked 15 straight at one stage if I remember correctly. Matt Wright was solid. I remember Feleti Mateo kicking 5/5 one day.

oh gee yes - the leather footballs were heavy and like soap when wet. The new footballs are much more "aerodynamic", lighter and made to be easy to handle in the wet.

forget his goal kicking, he is scoring off the field:

Has high jumper Amy Pejkovic swapped footy codes?
The influencer, model and athlete certainly made us think so with a series of videos shared to social media.
Celebrating her 27th birthday, Pejkovic spent time at Talit’s Estate in the Hunter Valley at the weekend and was tagged in an Instagram video of a friend appearing cosy with Manly Sea Eagles league player Reuben Garrick.

Garrick, 22, played 26 games for the Sea Eagles in an amazing debut NRL season last year where he emerged as one of the game’s standout rookies.
The Gerringong Lions junior was a revelation under coach Des Hasler, finishing the season as the NRL’s sixth-highest pointscorer with 16 tries and 65 goals.

In round eight he scored all of Manly’s points in their 18-10 win over Canterbury, and three days later signed a contract extension keeping him at the Sea Eagles until the end of 2021.
The exciting young winger’s breakout year earned him a place in the Prime Minister’s XIII side that beat Fiji last October and the Australian Nines team.
