I caught the tail end of an article on the sports report & it looks like Norths are trying to get back into the NRL as the Central Coast Bears. I didn't hear the full report but Greg Florimo who now lives on the CC is pushing for it.

They reckon the Central Coast Bears are a definite possibility for 2011, though games against Manly will take place at NSO.

Will be great to bank on an easy 4 points again.

If this is true I'm baffled.

How does Brisbane stay a one-team "town" while the NRL look once again to Gosford who have already proven their absolute and total indifference to NRL?

A game in Brisbane every weekend not attractive to the powers that be?

They only proved their indifference to a team that wasnt committed to the area.

The mariners has proven what a success a community oriented team can do up there, it remains to be seen if Norths would embrace that model or remain rooted in their old heartland.

So what about the people that used to be Bears supporters who are now Manly fans, or fans of someone other team, would they stay with their new club or go back up the coast?  Interesting... And would Norths still remain a feeder for Souths in that case?

I understand the Mariners recently signed a deal to the Stadium up there that makes it a lot more unnatractive to a League Team who'd want to be based there.

Seems Bad news continues to follow the Bears.

We would only get the Bears back if some other side relocated or fell on their sword and died. Relocation is attractive but it wouldn't be the Bears. Veru unlikely unless some club exec has hocked all the club assets in stocks and shares on a massive loan.

It is great that the footy season now actually lasts another month longer than it used to.  And to actually win a grand final - wow.

I can't go back now becase I now own a part of brookie oval via a paver in the brookie walk.

Besides Norths will never come back into the NRL as the central coast have always wanted their own team not one affiliated with norths or Manly or any other existing NRL side.
