Nrl said the penalty blitz has done its job and they want refs to allow for more free flowing football.

What really happened is the enforcement didn't work and fans are getting annoyed with the ridiculous penalty count and so the Toddler is back peddling.... again.

Just shows what a Mickey Mouse organization the NRL is. How can you play any competition under different rules from week to week. So the games decided by multiple penalties and sin bins up until now, would have probably had different results if played this weekend.

The likes of the storm and the roosters testing the rules constantly. Pushing the boundaries resulting in an arms race with the refs at the same time the game wanting referees to be the focus of the game not the facilitators!

Buzz Rothfield said a few weeks ago " Rugby League is now a **** game ". Unfortunately, he isn't far wrong. They keep changing the rules almost weekly , They referee Rep games how we all want to see & don't get me started on the Salary Cap.........

I was at The Raiders game a few weeks ago & fair dinkum, I would never pay to see an NRL game outside of Brooky with the way the game is at the moment , as I wouldn't want my hard earned going anywhere but to Manly.

Took family to the game at Penrith last year with Perenara officiating. That was the last time for me, and them. Felt embarrassed taking my family seeing their first live game and trying to explain what the hell was going on with the refs, and basically pis^ed a sizable entry fee up against the wall. There’s a few grand down the NRL drain of people not going to another game. Complete ****en idiots.

I watch a lot of baseball (mlb) afl, a-leauge and some rugby and Q cup games and then when i watch the nrl i just get depressed at the state of the game. It is too hard to follow and understand, there is no flow and the refs are far too prominate. The test is for me to take in a "neutral" game, which has become a chore.
The term: No Real Leadership has never been more apt.

Before crackdowns, knee jerks , and satisfying stakeholders we had a game of rugby league with a rulebook. The constant manipulation of the game to ensure its a product is killing the sport.

This announcement and recent crackdown not only confirms that the game is being adjudicated from desks and studios, but alone should point out to he independant commission that the game at its most basic premise is being influenced by an individual when ever he sees fit

Its classic grrenberg ****, but its also bordering on criminal how toothless the commssion are in looking after the game as opposed to the stakeholders, by allowing this cowboys reign of terror to continue.

If the commission do not sack this fool then they are not representing the game and are just sucking on the rugby league teet.
