What's in our favour is that last year against the Raiders we led by 20 points only to lose in the end, I'm sure that that game will alsways be in the back of their heads
Didn’t we also belt them in Canberra later in the year? Or was that the year before (or both perhaps?).

Bit of hype around the Faders but I think we’ll take care of them at Brookie

The Raiders are 1 game closer to a loss and we are 1 game closer to a win ....... Fxck knows who wins this one?

You can see it now right. We’ll demolish Canberra by 30 Sunday. All the experts will be back on the bandwagon for a week. We then choke monumentally to the Eels at home for their first win after leading by 28 at halftime Lol. And no, I’m not an nrl scriptwriter!

If Turbo is out, I think DCE will play

1. Lehi Hopoate
2. Jason Saab
3. Tolutau Koula
4. Tommy Talau
5. Reuben Garrick
6. Luke Brooks
7. Daly Cherry-Evans
8. Taniela Paseka
9. Jake Simpkin
10. Siosiua Taukeiaho
11. Haumole Olakau’atu
12. Ben Trbojevic
13. Jake Trbojevic

14. Jazz Tevaga
15. Ethan Bullomer
16. Toff Sipley
17. Josh Aloiai

18 Corey Waddel

I know it won’t happen.
Just hope the team turn up this week.

I think Manly 13+ in this one.

Raiders play tight and use their line speed in defense. We shift and attack the 3rd man in.

We'll find space wide.
My fear is we're too predictable in attack. If we start throwing the ball wide right every play, like we did against the Warriors, we are easy to read and easy to stop - most of the time we stopped ourselves with a poor pass or option. We need another few tricks up our sleeve, some variety in shapes and plays, to keep the Canberra defence guessing.

It'd be nice to see us not getting overrun when we're defending, too, although I've given up expecting that.

Have to get Haumole more involved and in better attacking opportunities compared with last Friday and the early stages in particular .
Can :t imagine the forwards collectively having another below par outcome , well certainly hope not .
Still a bit of a toss up whether Jazz or Simpkin start as the 9 , just have a bit of an inclination towards Simpkin .
Be interesting if Talau is available [ and specifically in relation to the situation with Turbo ] and a possible bench position for him or wing inclusion

Just looking at the stats from last Friday's game. It was hard to get Haumole any quality ball in attacking territory as the "inside 20" count was a whopping 51 - 3 to the Warriors! The first half was 31 - 0. You cannot win a game based on those numbers.

Shouldn't have let Humphreys go 2 man of the performance, he can cover for DCE and Croker but instead we got Tavega. What the hell, South are laughing at us top5. Have U seen the size of him, he can even play in the forwards, would've been a great bench player and replace DCE in the future if he's after 1mil..

To rub salt into the wounds, I think I heard on NRL 360 last night that they picked up Humphreys for $150k, for years now all the talk was about Humphreys, we had concerns that when his father left he may also want to go, however in the end it was us that let him go," congratulations Manly, you've done it again".

Joey Walsh will replace DCE but would of loved humphreys at hooker instead of croker

So did we “ let him go “ or was it that we offered him a contract but couldn’t guarantee him a starting position.

To be honest I’ve heard both sides of this story.

One of two things will happen with this game.

At home , we’ll get our mojo back , and with the support of a full house we’ll inflict the Raiders first loss of the season.

OR

It’ll be proven that our pre season positivity was just that , pre season , and we’ll have it confirmed that we are , yet again , just making up the numbers.

It’s a toss of the coin , either way.

For me you can take as much out of the warriors game as the cowboys game.

The first rounds are just all over the place. When was the last time the Panthers had 38 scored against them?

We will know more about where we are after 8 rounds (or even 12 when our run of games at home is done)

I agree R.Gibbs and happy to even see a simple robust style play "right up the guts" with support plays and a few offloads to create momentum and quick play balls....then....even regardless of being predictable, the shift is almost unstoppable to defend if the defence is backpeddling.
I really feel most of that sideway shift at "every" opportunity last week, was a mindset thinking we could get outside NZ without having to earn it....I call it arrogant or disrespectful attack really.
Manly have not learnt the art of destroying teams through the front doors and even when winning big, has been more from the outside gates after spinning the ball wide.
Will never go too deep in the NRL comp until can find more success attacking that middle 3rd and 2nd phase from Taukeiaho, Paseka, Oka and Sipley types may be something we start seeing more in coming games.

What exaggerated dribble this is. It’s 2 rounds into the season & they’ve scraped past the favourite & 3rd favourite to win the wooden spoon. ‘South’s are laughing at us top 5’ 🤣 are you an undercover bunnies fan or something? Chill out mate, there is still 25 rounds to go.

Keeping it simple he wanted to play halfback & isn’t anywhere close to DCE’s level. At south’s he was battling an import with 0 nrl games, pretty easy choice for a 23 year old that wants to play 1st grade.
