possible solution to clubs financial issues

After reading all the stories regarding the clubs financial losses etc. I started thinking (it did hurt a bit) and perhaps have an idea. Now this may not be possible due to legalities however I do believe manly is a registered club, therefore may hold a substantial lottery. This may be a ridiculous idea but I believe we should look at every possibility to put our club in a financially healthy position.
The idea is based on the Boystown lottery.
Invest in the purchase of a house or unit for say 700 000
With 200 000 tickets at 10 dollars each.
This number sounds like a hell of a lot but it will be the best odds you'll ever get to win a house.
Employ 2 people to sell and promote the lottery at shopping centres at the game, interstate if possible.
Ideally if you ran this every 2 months...well you do the maths. Basically it would cover our playing roster salary for the year.
I know this is how the British Olympic team become so well funded, and in this economic climate it gives people a real chance to own a home.
I certainly would subscribe to 10 tickets each lottery.
It may be a gamble but hey if it works we wouldn't have any more issues regarding coach and player retention.
Just a thought and maybe a solution. By the way I don't post too often but visit here religiously everyday its a great to see so many passionate manly supporters. I love it.
