Pin-ups punted in new NRL ads

Here's something to make Rex happy!

"THE NRL has heeded the lessons from last season's cursed advertising campaign, opting for a generic approach in 2010 rather than a potentially volatile stable of pin-up boys.

With the game's three anointed faces of 2009 - Brett Stewart, Greg Inglis and Matthew Johns - consecutively brought undone by high-profile personal drama, the new safety-first package has been compiled from exciting action footage and fan faces.

Sport Confidential has also been told last year's Wes Carr anthem Feels Like Whoa will be dumped in favour of an atmospheric musical score without lyrics.

A draft was completed late last year, but drew immediate fire after officials noticed the creative agency did not include a single image of either the Broncos or the Bulldogs.

It was an a minor oversight to say the least, considering those clubs happen to be the two most-watched NRL teams in Australia."
