Penn demands exoneration over match fixing

Mr Penn, I have a few questions in relation to your quotes here if I may be so bold?

Penn said he knew of no player, nor official, who was formally interviewed.

“Not that I’m aware of,” Penn said. “My understanding of the process is that anyone who was interviewed had to sign very strict confidentiality deeds which would preclude them from saying anything.

“I certainly wasn’t interviewed, and to the best of my knowledge, none of my management team was either.

Question 1: If you were not interviewed, and don't know of any players or officials who were, how have you developed your "understanding of the process"?

Question 2: If (assuming your "understanding of the process" is correct) everyone signed a confidentiality deed, how would you know if any player or official had been interviewed? You can take that as a well made point if you like. No answer required.

Question 3: For that matter, if you yourself had been interviewed and subsequently signed one of those confidentuality deeds you seem to know so much about, would your denials be worth the rubbish newspaper they were printed in? Again this is a bit of a snarky rhetorical point as opposed to a genuine enquiry. Feel free to answer Mr Penn (if thats even possible, confidentiality agreemant and all) but I won't be holding my breath.

We just need to put the matter to rest now. It’s not about pointing fingers, it’s about moving on.”

I don’t want to dwell on this. We have some great momentum heading into the 2017 season and some fantastic new sponsors on board. We have put it in the past.”

Also

Question 4 (Bonus Round): Mr Penn, with ALL DUE RESPECT of course, would you have prefered to "put the matter to rest", "put it in the past", "not dwell on it" and "move on" (as your quotes above suggest) OR have Dean Ritchie write an article about it on day 1 of the new NRL season? If you don't answer, given the article does exist, written by that same "journalist" who always seems to write whatever propaganda you are trying to get out, I will have no choice but to assume the latter, which only raises more questions...

Thanks for your time Scott!
