I'm sure I've seen a similar highlights package from schoolboy rugby a few years ago that had us excited....
Tom Wright anybody?
Tom Wright seemed more of an outside back - full back type player where this lad has presumably or is being groomed as a future half or 6 .
Looks like a very quick and elusive runner , lets see how he goes in the other halves playing requirements as the competition steps up a level or three .
Joey Walsh from some reports , probably a natural play making half already . maybe Onitoni could end up as a Manly 6 but if he is more then capable of playing in both positions , could only be a good thing

He may be a superstar but as you (rightly) point out there is a lot of water to flow between here and there...

Tom, Josh, Latu, Manase etc etc

In the words of the great Emilio Estevez... "Tis many a slip twixt the cup and the lip"

I keep reading that Wests are producing all these 'superstar' juniors.
Didn't they come last in all the junior rep competitions this season?

The younger brother Ashton is a lightning 9 who is perfect in the modern game....similar to Fainu with also plenty of tenacity in style, but quicker....actually plays up a year at rep level and a good chance to be at Manly by 2026.

Just to clarify Wests Tigers' junior successes/failures this season:
Last: NSW Cup, SG Ball, Harrold Matthews
7th: Jersey Flegg

Certainly has good skills. Fast, excellent step and swerve off both feet, strong on his feet and doesn't easily succumb to a tackle, good distribution skills, good defense. Looks a very likely prosect. Hope Manly handles him well.

Certainly looks to be a "good'un". Has the size to perhaps fit in at centre or full-back. One proviso about those videos - the defences involved were very poor.

This is a big coup isnt it?

The club must be doing something right to beat out so many others to his signature.

I forget who it was but wasn't there a poster on here saying they had a contact in the juniors, and no one wanted to come to Manly?

This flies right in the face of that.
