The Who
Journey Man
A huge tick to the one-ref rule change. It is something most of us have been crying out for, and it proved last night to be a winner with less penalties and a more open spectacle. And it laid bare the referee association's earlier whinge that NRL was too fast for just one ref.
The six-again seemed to work although it did allow the attacking team to get on a roll and which proved/will prove very difficult for even the best defences to stop....
For this reason I'm proposing that the NRL adopts a rule used in the Super League days, and in many other sports:
* The team that scores kicks off to re-start play.
Under our current rule the poor scored-against team has to keep giving up possession. With the new six-again rule it means greater chance for one team dominating possession as happened last night when I understand Doesn'tmatta enjoyed a 63% possession advantage.
