On this day

Phil Blake was no longer a Sea Eagle in 1987.

I think Martin Meredith might have been the 5/8 in question. Easy enough to confirm.

I think Blake lost confidence and went from halfback, to winger....
When he burst onto the scene, the support play was the best by a way, up with the likes of Snake and Slater in later years.
His chip and chase tries were Amazing and I think every kid, myself included was running around trying them....great to watch but was a fine art reserved for special players (maybe why mine often bounced the WRONG way).
He was my favourite with Boyd back in the day and the slide in his career imo, was after 2 successive losses to a red hot Eels in 1982/83, if we win 1 or both of those games, he would have been been a Star half and up with he best players in the game....still gave me great memories back in the day, so thanks Phil Blake!!

Just out of interest just wondering everyone’s thoughts on the ‘history flashbacks’ the club has been putting out over the last week.

Is it something you want more of or is it not worthwhile - can it be improved etc?

The club is interested in your views and making all the content as interesting and relevant as possible.

Thx

If they are interested in my views they can damn well ask me themselves!

(kidding)

I like them. I get a dose of "never knew that" and "wow, I should remember that but don't." So I learn something but precedent means I'll probably forget it again.

Keep 'em coming!
