On the plus side

I’ll help you, I haven’t read any other comments but can imagine what the general consensus would be

Not downcast at all after that game, we had 10 players unavailable with obviously a few of those being key players

Where I take the big positive, is that’s all we have heard recently isn’t about blowouts and how momentum can’t be stopped etc. For me that is all rubbish, and comes down to what the teams have under the left tit

What I saw from min 20-65 when the Raiders had 75-80% of the ball, and pretty much all in attacking positions, is that we didn’t give up at all and defended well. All that ball against us and the big guns aren’t there, and with 7 mins to go we were still in with a chance to come back and win. Not many teams currently can provide that narrative

The character the team showed in conceding so many resets and possession was good. We were undone by our inability to diffuse their grubber kicks and we gifted them a couple of very soft tries on the back of our fatigue.

I think it would be a different conversation if Parker had scored to make it 8-0. That to me was the turning point of the game. They got a 7 tackle set and we did not see the ball for the next 15 minutes or so.

Thought Olakau'Atu was very good in both attack and defence, Lawton also solid also....Foran had moments...Paseka made a couple good runs and tackles...keppie, well tackled hard but a few dumb 6 agains at vital times and the BEST play of the night imo, was the short ball from Marty to Sipley who burst through and if found Foran, we would have had agame, but Marty ordinary including letting in some soft pies....'That's all folks"

We were crap, with another really badly selected team, but:
7 minutes to go, 8 points down and Garrick knocked over by 2 Faders right in front of referee and blindsman, who ignore it. End of our momentum.

The positive , the first game for me for a month where I could comment live.

The next positive , some nice cold tap beer ( first for a long time ) and some fresh local Barra for dinner at the Sunset Tavern in Karumba.

We’ll be back , don’t you worry!!!

That is a fair point, in the sense that we got lapped 3 times in the first month but ever since then we have either won or at least been within striking range until the final minutes.

What I saw is that even a busted clock tells the correct time twice a day.

That busted clock is otherwise known as the Canberra Raiders.

Normal Sea Eagles’ transmission will resume shortly.

On the plus side, regardless of some dumb plays and handling errors we were in with a chance 6 minutes to go, We had a roll on and if the ref gave the penalty for Garrick being taken out I think we would have scored and only 2 points down with about 5 mins to go - momentum might have got us home, they would definitely have panicked.

Despite Paseka being on report, and speculation Marty was too, there were no charges by the MRC.

That's a big plus as, if we'd lost Paseka as well as possibly Sips, we'd be in even bigger trouble next week!
