Seriously though this first month was always going to be tough with the Roosters, Souths and Penrith.

That means this week is hugely important if we are to have any aspirations this season.

We need a win for the two points and more importantly some confidence.

Good point, Manly losses are good news for the newlywed due to increased site traffic from fans who need to vent!

Yeah as soon as i included better or worse , thought that Dan "s recent happy event might get a reference , Fairly despondent at present with the lack of Manly 's on field successes for some time now but sure that the i st win for this season is going to break the gloomy cycle quite a bit .

Couple of good point Des has finally talked about. Walker should be in the centres. Parker may make a decent second rower. And the fact he got Schuster into the team for virtually a full game was a big plus in getting the player game fit for first grade. Still in the wrong position in my opinion but its a start. Will be very interesting as to what team he comes up with for next game. Funa?, Harper? or maybe even Koula? at full back. Despite the losses this could be a blessing in disguise.

That’s the scary part - Des isn’t choosing these positional changes - he’s reacting cause he has to.

Yep. Unfortunately its injuries that force him to make changes he should make in the first place. However it happens and it means at least trying something new. If it doesnt work, nothing lost because they are going no were at present. If it works, it could help to turn the team around. I have no doubt Des can coach. I just think he gets too scared to make changes he should.

Funa is a better fullback than Walker
