Last year it was an arm injury so don't think his speed would have been affected.

A player doesn't go from being one of the best wingers in the game to reserve grade in a matter of a season & a half unless there was something happening behind the scenes at Newcastle......I believe he's gonna show a few people up in 2017!

For what its worth when I was on holiday in Hawaii last month I met Jacob Gagai and besides telling him he should join Manly I asked him about Uate and he said that he was fast & one of the hardest players to tackle and whilst things didn't go his way in Newcastle last season he believes he will have a great year at Manly and will be a sensation here.
