Looks like the NSW govt is commiting to a build programme for ANZ, Allianz and Parra.

We will need to get used to travelling to Allianz from 2020 or so, unfortunately.

As I've said before, the biggest problem Manly has is that they really are the only professional national league sports club in Sydney located north of the harbour. With only one major tenant, Brookie gets forgotten about.

Parramatta Stadium, the SFS and ANZ all have multiple tenants spread across 3 sports (league, yawnion and soccer, 4 if you include the odd AFL game at ANZ). Its far easier for the management of those venues, plus the government(s) to justify spending money on them rather than on a suburban venue such as Brookvale.

ANZ will be made into a fulltime rectangular ground, from what the news said.

With the govt spending the cash, they will want guaranteed "content", as I have heard it described tonight.

They ain't spending ****loads to knock down and rebuild a 55k seater at Moore Park, just for the Waratahs and Roosters.

With the news stadiums to look quite slick, we'd be silly not to play at least 2 games a season at Allianz. WIth the new stadium rebuilds comes plenty of new corporate opportunities, which our club needs more of at games.

1 Billion dollars spent on sports grounds and we cant take a few fefugees fleaing Isis.
Quick quiz. Which is worse:
1. Killing a handful of people and posting it on the internet
2. A government seeking to exterminate an entire race of people by systematically selecting and transporting millions of them (men, women and children) to be enslaved, tortured and then gassed en masse in concentration camps? Then for good measure, waging a brutal and extensively deadly war on most of the civilised world.

When you can understand why 1 is worse than 2 according to our illustrious leader, then you'll understand more clearly the clarity of his thinking on refugees.

Great idea. I'm also looking forward to interchangeable teams - let's have the best 26 players playing each other every week, and the crowd can wear virtual reality goggles with your club of choice's colours superimposed on the winning team. Week after week.

Put down the crack pipe.....

Can't believe they are throwing around this sort of money and Brookie can't get a look in. Being a Council owned ground is holding it back big time.

$1.6 billion planning to be spent on stadiums that will only be filled maybe twice a year.

Speaking of which, what has happened to that supposed $10 million upgrade for Brookvale oval? ...into the ether?

How much would you say to by back Brookvale from the council (Government or club) or can't this be done?

Based on the track record of the Warringah council, its amazing that F B has the stands that it does! :whew: Think there is a State govt initiative to merge councils where possible; Manly & Warringah will become one. When that happens, maybe then things will clear up for poor ol Brooky.

So the NRL will take the game to the people, but that's if youse people are the ones living in the west, not the north or south. The north side of Sydney will actually lose their only one NRL team Manly. Bye bye sharks too.

Canterbury and South Sydney, tenants at ANZ Stadium, could remain there, while Cronulla and Manly are also likely to be pushed to play home games at one of the three major grounds. Smith indicated on Friday the suburban grounds would be retained as training facilities and perhaps to host the odd game – "from time to time it's great to recognise where we come from" – but with the government's investment contingent on content being guaranteed, most games will be held at the new stadiums.

The current Premier of NSW Priminister come from the north shore and are apparently Manly supporters. If Brookvale can not get funding now it never will.

Again the No idea Rugby league leadership are talking through their arse. Suburban grounds in Sydney are the lifeblood of the game. Take the games away from Brookie, Shark park, Penrith, Campbelltown, Kogarah, ,Belmore, Leichart and it will be the death of tribalism that this game was built on. Fuk the NRL and those who run it. They have sold the soul of the game to the devil.

Like all of the bleeding heart left wingers out there you completely missed his point.

He made no comment about the actual acts or their quantum, what he described was the difference of one advertising proudly the evil they had committed whilst the other sought to hide their atrocities. But hey, you go on blindly thinking it's no big deal.

The facts are that they have murdered hundreds of thousands and will continue to do so until stopped.

They have now lost my vote. This plan is beyond stupid.
