While it might seem good I don't agree with it.
The NRL have been told and retold not to market based purely on players because off what happened a few years ago.
Most years they get NFL guys over here to advise them and it's the first thing they get told.
IMO base it on fans

It's a great coup for our guys, and the club, but yes if it went south for any reason (highly unlikely I'd have thought) then whoever chose this marketing strategy would (should) be hanging by a very slender thread.
