So the NRL Premiership Prize Money is only $400,000 to the Premiers & $200,000 to the runners up.

Not much in the context of the games overall revenue ?? A more decent prize money would help our ‘profit & loss’ situation.

As a comparison the AFL’s Premiership prize money to the Premiers is $1,000,000.

Yes, like the minor premiership of $100,000 it's all out of proportion.
One decent player has a salary of $400,000.

Prizemoney should be $500,000 for the minor premiers, $1-Million for the premiers and $500,000 to the runner-up, plus a % of gate revenue for the home team at each finals match.

Gallop is on $600k so piss him off and then the prize can be $1m. Agree that $400k is nothing and shows how much waste is in the NRL.

Agree, $400,000 is insulting. When they do the new TV rights, the winners cheque should be raised to $1mill or even $2mill. And not all for the players, for the club to develop players.

And also, more recognition for most competition points at end of year. That is a huge achievement (provided you don't get stripped of them for cheating the cap)

I know it a bit different but I heard the winner (a Wagga team) of Group 9 got $7,000 and their coach Daniel Fitzhenry is on a reported $40,000 a year.
