I'm hoping for $13. To blow out $2 (to $11) for what I thought was a reasonable performance is harsh. I guess they can possibly see a struggle coming up for us in the early rounds and then be in a point chasing position. 10-1 is still pretty good to me. Seriously, I can't see the Knights or Warriors finishing in front of us and the Tigers are always iffy.

MarkFB made more money than me last year but I bet more - any hints on when you wade in with your $50 would be appreciated.

I don't understand the tigers hype. They consistently show they can't win semis when they count. The odds for knights and dogs are ridiculous. For mine warriors manly storm should be ahead of tigers.

Tigers when they are hot can play good footy, but overall too much flair and trying to do too much. They just don't do the simple things correctly and consistently

As shown in both their finals games last year,the tigers cannot put a complete 80 minutes together. Until they can do that they will just rely on individual brilliance and it's no longer enough to win a comp

Do you guys prefer tab sport over sporting bet?

Just done a calculation and TAB Sportbet market is 120%, they are deadset kidding.

The current Betfair market is 105%, but will shorten up to 101-102% as the season roll on.

If you like taking between 15-20% unders stick with the TAB.

I have been doing a lot of work on these fixed odds markets offered by TAB Sportbet over the last month or so. I have come to the conclusion that the only way to win in to grab an early price as they often make mistakes in assessing their markets. Mind you the 20% buffer they have puts them in real good stead to cope with these errors.

I just checked Sportingbet, they have Tigers at $8 followed by Manly & the Storm at $9. The Warriors are at $10.

The tele gives the impression that manly's odds mean manly won't do well this year, rather than signifying that more mug punters are happy to lose their money on other teams. Surely everyone understands that the odds are set in accordance with the market, rather than a rational analysis of which teams are likely to win?

Totally right about TAB % of take out in sports markets - its criminal in a sense cant believe people fall for it.

Its also interesting that LUXBET ( which is basically the TAB trading under a different name ) has the Tigers at $8. TAB Sportsbet has 1 thing going for it ..they bet on absolutely everything possible known to man. Thats about it. They market themselves to the "meat and drink" punter who is too lazy to shop around and get 5-10% better value for the same thing. They swallow up the the same people who always take mortgages with big 4 banks, or buy petrol at the same petrol stations regardless of price.

Its almost an insult to Tigers fans that the TAB are banking that your average Joe Sixpack punter is gonna take $6 at his local TAB just through ignorance/laziness.

The only reason I ask is that I have sporting bet advertising on the site, and if you guys prefer a different vendor I will advertise them instead.

I plan on integrating some information into the tipping comp as I am re-writing it now. Whereby it looks at your selections and calculates what you would win on say a $5 line bet with the current odds offered from that vendor.

Sportingbet has Manly @$9, Centrebet (still operating standalone) has $10 and SportsTab has $11. It doesn't matter how much margin Sportsbet is running their book, in this instance and at this moment, they are the way to go. Betfair has $10.50 for a whole $4 coverage then $10 for $171.

Usually though Centrebet would be my choice for sports betting but I go with whoever offers the best odds.

Centre et have given me an XML feed. Sportsbet couldn't give me one yet and betfair is very uk oriented

I had a go at TAB Sportsbet the other day, when they stated that no one wanted to touch Manly.....I told them to blow us out into the twenties if u are so sure and see what happens.....Silence there was.
