Don't get me wrong, when he was younger Mundine wasn't a bad 5/8. He wasn't as good as he thought he was, but he wasn't bad.
What got me though was his constant bleating that he was always overlooked for rep teams (NSW and Australia) because he was Aboriginal. That to me was absolute garbage. First of all, there were others selected who were Aboriginals. Laurie Daley is part Aboriginal, then there are players like Wendell Sailor and Steve Renouf. But the fact remains that the other 5/8's who were selected were simply better players. Daley and Fittler for NSW and Australia, Kevin Walters for a Kangaroo bench spot.
Mundine could never accept that he wasn't as good as he thought he was and did what has become a theme of his professional sporting career. Pull the race card when it doesn't go his way. Good on him for having confidence in his own ability, but seriously, the race issue was never the issue. He was the one who made it that way.
